To further my career as an Astanga yoga teacher I would like to find more paid positions in Sydney health gyms and yoga schools and eventually obtain full-time work as a yoga instructor.
 

Achievements:

2000 to present -- part-time Astanga Yoga Instructor,
Broadway Gym, Newtown Gym, Glebe Neighbourhood Centre, Yoga Solutions Pty Ltd, Mighty M Gym (Pagewood), Dance Central (Surry Hills).

I have been employed part-time for the past 9 years. The main achievements of my teaching during this time have been:

• Accommodating a wide range of individual abilities within a large class
• Creating a safe class environment by making students aware of possible injuries
• Inspiring and extending individual student potential
• Communicating knowledge and personal experience in the process of learning yoga
• Imparting personally developed strategies to overcome obstacles to student progress
• Seeking student feedback in order to improve future classes
• Developing customised introductory beginners' courses
• Using knowledge of anatomy to advise students of ways to improve their technique and precision for overall health and fitness
• Promoting health and well-being using preventative natural methods including a spiritual component.

Prior to 2000 -- In between domestic duties in raising a child, and full-time study for a BA Visual Arts degree (UNSW, 89), I worked as: Receptionist at Shiatsu Ryohu College, Surry Hills (94-95); Panchakarma Therapist at Ayurvedic Clinic, Manly (91-93); various waitressing, service and sales jobs (80-86); General Nurse at Balmain Hospital (75-76).

Trained as Ayurvedic Health Therapist, Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre Manly (1990)

Trained in classical Russian Ballet (1988-96).
